River City Centre bricks removed, available to purchasers
Individuals, families and businesses that bought bricks for the River City Centre clock tower are invited to take ownership of those bricks due to a change in design.
When the River City Centre Apartments opened a decade ago, the community was given an opportunity to purchase bricks to help finance the clock tower at the center of the building.

70 years ago, Brewers beat Shakopee with no hits
Seventy years ago, Shakopee's Louis Klingsborn no-hit the Jordan Brewers in the second game of a best-of-three playoff series, but Jordan still won. Shakopee committed five errors, and Jordan's pitcher threw a three-hitter.

The defending state champions will begin the 2008 season as the No. 2-ranked team in the state.
The Shakopee volleyball team is ranked No. 2 in the preseason Associated Press Class 3A poll.
Chaska is the No. 1-ranked team with 144 points. Shakopee is next with 140 with Eastview third with 132 points.

Former Jonathan bookkeeper charged with theft

CHASKA -- A former Jonathan Association employee has been charged with felony theft.
According to a press release from the Carver County Attorney's Office, Kimberly Sue Ferrari, 37, was previously employed as the association's bookkeeper.
"Ferrari is charged with using the Association’s credit card without authorization to make numerous purchases and cash advances for personal gain in an amount over $9,000," the release stated.
